บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย :

Kajian ini bertujuan untUk (i) memperkenalkan Lesson Study (LS) sebagai satu model perkembangan profesional guru di sekolah berprestasi rendah, dan (ii) mengkaji amalan semasa guru Matematik dan Sains (M&S), dan impak LS terhadap amalan pengajaran dan pembelajaran murid mereka. Pada mulanya sembilan sekolah berprestasi rendah menyertai kajian ini: tiga masing-masing daripada Sekolah Kebangsaan, Jenis Kebangsaan Cina dan Tamil. Setiap sekolah membentuk dua kumpulan LS, satu sains dan satu matematik dengan purata empat orang guru dalam setiap kumpulan. The study aimed to (i) introduce Lesson Study (LS) as a teacher professional development model in low performing primary schools, and (ii) examine the current practices of mathematics and science (M&S) teachers, and the impact of LS on their teaching practices and students' learning. Initially nine low performing primary schools participated in the study: three each from the National, Chinese and Tamil vernacular schools. Each school set up two LS groups, one science and one mathematics with an average of four teachers per group.
